DRAFT — requires legal review before production use. WASL does not claim to be “fully GDPR compliant”. Some details are pending controller/legal input.
Find a Teacher terms
Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. These terms describe how Find a Teacher works today and will be replaced by reviewed terms before it opens widely. Version: draft-2026-10.
What Find a Teacher is
Find a Teacher is a directory of independent Qur’an teachers who use WASL. WASL reviews profiles before they appear and helps parents and teachers make first contact. WASL is not a party to the arrangement between a family and a teacher and does not charge, collect, hold or pay out lesson fees.
For parents
- You must be the parent or legal guardian of the child you contact a teacher about.
- Sending an inquiry is free and creates no obligation. The teacher may accept or decline.
- Fees shown on courses are set by the teacher and are for information. Any payment is agreed and made directly between you and the teacher, outside WASL.
- If you go ahead, the teacher adds your child to their WASL classes. A child who already learns in WASL keeps their learning record.
- Please keep first contact inside WASL and do not share a child’s phone number or address. You can report a concern at any time.
- Feedback can be given only after real lessons and is moderated before it is shown.
For teachers
- Listing is optional and included with eligible WASL plans. WASL decides whether to approve a profile, can request changes, and can pause or suspend a listing under the safeguarding policy. This never deletes your WASL account or affects your existing students.
- If your subscription ends, your listing pauses after a short grace period. Your students and classes are not affected.
- You must describe your qualifications truthfully. Claims show as self-declared until WASL verifies them.
- You agree fees directly with families. WASL takes no commission on lesson fees; you pay WASL only your normal subscription.
- You must not contact children privately outside WASL, and you must follow the safeguarding policy.
Still to be confirmed with a lawyer before wide launch: operator details, liability wording, governing law and dispute handling.
